Can you figure out why Ethan's marill has this name
[Ethan is running through Levanta Town with a worried look on his face, looking in trash cans, under stairwells, and into every nook and cranny he can find. While he searches, he's calling as loudly as he can without attracting too many glares from the townsfolk.]
Marbles? Marbles, where are you? I told him to stay put...!

[Then he realizes that this must be another Red; his Red doesn't talk like that. Nor is he that...tall.
After looking around him for a moment to see what Red was talking about, he suddenly realizes, and laughs.]
Not my mind, my marill! Have you seen one anywhere?
[Then he sees the three pig pokemon with Red, he gives them a little wave. But just a small one—the ladder wobbles and he quickly places both hands on the rungs again, to steady it.]

[He looks down to confirm this at the three pigs, Tepig and Swinub distracted with waving at the nice young man. With annoyance, he looks at the older of the brothers, the Spoink, who notions Red to be a gentleman and hold that ladder in place.]

[The ladder shudders suddenly as Red makes his way up, a snarl in his voice.]

[Ethan has never seen any of these three pokemon, and watches them with friendly interest. His attention refocuses when Red goes to steady the ladder.]
Oh, thanks! You don't have to oh my god I'm sorry I didn't do it help!!
[Cue Ethan SCRAMBLING UP THE LADDER and slipping on the roof tiles as he desperately tries to get away!!]

It seems Spoink has found a way to manuever up the steps though, but it'll take him a while. Hang on Ethan!!]

It's a little weird that Red is calling him a peasant but THERE ARE BIGGER PROBLEMS AT HAND.]
I'm sorry! I'm sorry! You look like, I mean I thought you— [He gasps as he slips, nearly falling flat on his face.] Ow!

He might just take back those words though. Red didn't anticipate Ethan being so quick on his feet. The chase is going on longer than he wanted, the hold on Ethan's arm proving more a disadvantage.]

[His hand isn't grabbing so hard anymore.]

Ethan turns to glance at Red when he hears the change in his voice—]
I'll call you whatever you want just let me go!
[—and yanks on his captured arm as hard as he can, trying to break free.]

[Gasping for air at the same time, Ethan comes successfully out of Red's reach. He doesn't go after him right away, bent over on his knees. He's breathing really loud actually.]
Haha.....[huff]...try and run....I'll give you....ugh....[groans, gasping].....a...head start.
Sorry, Ethan is not observant when badly frightened
He turns so he can look over his shoulder with huge, frightened eyes. Red's blocking the only entrance or exit from the roof, what does he do now?!
Oh, right. His hand goes for one of the poke balls at his belt.]
Pecha!
[There's a flash of light and then a furret is standing protectively in front of her trainer, hackles raised and small teeth bared.
It's then that Ethan realizes that Red doesn't...look too great. He doesn't know what to make of that, though. Red's still too close for comfort, in his opinion!]

Nonetheless, if he gets defeated by a Furret, he'd never live it down. Red prepares to get up, when Spoink finally makes an entrance, landing on the boy's back with a loud thud. He looks towards Pecha and Ethan calmly.]
There's no need to fight, he will be under control from now on.
[Yes that Spoink just talked.]

You can talk?
[Ethan gets to his feet slowly. Too many crazy things are happening at once, and he puts a hand to his head to try and sort things out. He points at Spoink and Red as he talks to them in turn.]
Wait, you can talk, and—hey, R—[WAIT don't call him that] Um, mister, are you sick?
[Meanwhile, Pecha's going to back up a little towards her trainer, the tension bleeding out of her body mostly, but not entirely. She cocks her head at the strange scene in front of her, and gives a bewildered chirrup.]

[Spoink says this matter of factly, making a mental note to question him later of the norms of this world. He hops off Red, whose face is slumped on the tiles uncomfortably.]
What else does it look like...[inhales sharply]...j-just give it to me already...
[Red motions with his hand to Spoink. The pig reveals a worn out device that looks similar to an inhaler.
Instead of giving it to Red though, he travels over to Ethan.]
I think we should let our new friend decide what you deserve.
He huffs and he puffs?
...Okay? [I mean, really, what else do you say to a talking spoink? Besides, Red looks like he's melting or something.
When the spoink comes over, it takes Ethan another second to realize what he means. Suddenly, Ethan's eyes widen, and he takes the inhaler and runs over to Red—then hesitates. What if Red keeps chasing him after this?
After a moment to consider, he kneels down and presses the inhaler into Red's hand.
Meanwhile, Pecha is going to sniff curiously at the spoink. He doesn't smell any different? She chirps a cautious hello, wondering if he can only speak people-talk.]
Breathing issue, and he can't really blow houses down, but he can Roar
[So hasty; he frowns when Ethan rushes over to Red. With a sigh, he notices Pecha and switches to Pokespeak, apologizing to the Furret.
As for Red, he'll just stare back in surprise the whole time, or as much as his face will allow it. He rolls his eyes before activating the device.]
...That's amazing
Ethan, for his part, doesn't like seeing people asphyxiate if it's all the same to everyone! Even if they are terrifying. Once Red takes the inhaler from him, he starts backing up towards the ladder, though.]
Pecha—
[His furret tries to slink past Red towards him, and Ethan returns his gaze to Red.]
Are you okay?
JOIN ME LOL xD
He hops back to Red, who doesn't look so drained. After a couple softer breaths, he backs away on all fours from the ladder.]
I'll get you for this pig...
[Turning to Pecha and Ethan, not making eye contact.] I won't bite.
OKAY? :D
Meanwhile, Ethan pauses just before the ladder. He's staying still, but he looks doubtful.] ...Are you sure?
[What big teeth you have.]
CRACK FAIRYTALE/FABLE/RHYME AU IS LONELY WITH ONLY ONE PERSON >_>
[As Spoink says this both in humanspeak and pokespeak, he lightly throws his pearl up in the air, he and Red emanating a light blue glow. Red is slides back a couple feet, shuddering from the misplaced tiles.]

[Red, rubbing his hind side] Ow!
You didn't have to do that. I said I wouldn't do anything.
Oh I didn't know what you meant ;; I already have too many muses though
Um, okay? I've still got to find Marbles, so...sorry, mister. [And confusedly, to the Spoink:] Thanks?
[He starts to take a step or two down the ladder, retreating slowly while keeps an eye on you.]

[He looks below, the two remaining brothers waiting.]
My brothers might be of some use, maybe I can lend you Red. He shouldn't be trying to eat you now.
[Red's just stuffing his hands into his armpits, watching Ethan climb. ]
You might check out Arcanarum? That's a fairy tale-oriented game.
Um, it's okay. I don't think your trainer likes me, so you don't have to. Thanks for offering, though.
[He looks down, frowning worriedly at at the ground for a second, before he looks up again.]
Though, um...do you have any ideas where a marill might hide? Marbles likes to play and see new things, which...doesn't really help narrow things down. I've looked all over the marketplace, but I don't know where else he might be.

What about barrels, boxes, of that sort?
[This time it's Swinub speaking.]
I would say I'm the best tracker out of us. Even Red, who's a human now, he still has a pretty good nose.
Panfandom, but it's got a Cress at the very least?
I've looked in all the boxes nearby [including some owned by various shopkeepers. He's gotten screamed at for suspected shoplifting more than once today.]. Oh! Maybe you could sniff him out. I have his poke ball still, if that can help you get a fix on him.

[Tepig] But it's fun to have someone to do your chores and stuff, dontcha think??
[Red groans from above, rubbing his face. How humiliating, argh. Realizing Spoink has removed him from his control, he answers Spoink with a raspberry, sliding down the ladder.
Tepig, Swinub, and Red bump against the Pokeball, taking huge whiffs.]
I got it! [Red and Swinub lead the chase, hitting Ethan in the process.]

Nope. Might have a Bugsy later but the mun's not sure. I don't mind it :)
