[She's been here for months and has pretty much given up on anybody else from back home showing up.

Leaf's picked out an empty cottage a few miles away from the town. She much prefers to be away from crowds. But since she did end up miles away from most civilization, she's free to have her slightly ridiculous array of pokemon out.

One of which is a very loud Braviary, who's CAW CAWing about how awesome he is. And a Blastoise who is... napping, and somehow ignoring all the cawing.]

Calm down, it's only us out here. We've already heard how great you are. [Nope, still cawing about how awesome he is. Because everybody needs to hear it!]

[She'll turn to the bird and glare as soon as she hears that voice.] Hush. [At least Brohawk knows a serious order when it hears one]

Green? [It's been... a while since she's heard any Green around here.]

When did you get here?

[Eevee gives a little cry of delight and bounds towards Leaf. Green follows at a more ordinary pace, running a hand through his hair.]

I just got here. Wherever "here" is. What's...going on? Last thing I remember, I was working late at the gym again.

[He smiles.] Man, I'm glad to see you, though. When'd you catch a braviary?

[It's not big bro Green if he doesn't have an Umbreon. She'll kneel down and pat the Eevee's head.]

We're on a floating island. The island just brought us here, but it'll let us off eventually.

... Good to see you too. [Not her version of you, but always nice to see Green variations around] I traded for him. [CAW CAW--]

Hush. [Fiiiiiine.]

[Eevee sniffs at Leaf's hand with confusion, then chirps at you. You smell weird, but you look right? What's up with tha—oh hey petting never mind.]

[Green raises an eyebrow.] A floating island. That stole us. Right.

[He waits for a second, watching Leaf's expression carefully. Braviary caws, and Leaf shuts him up, but—]

You're serious? Please don't tell me you're serious.

[She looks a bit annoyed at potentially having to repeat herself]

Of course I'm serious. Why would I joke? [The better question is when does she ever joke?]

[leadergreen]

...Sometimes you have a weird sense of humor. [Green's brow is furrowed as he steps closer, looking into her eyes. Something seems a little off about Leaf, but he's not sure what yet.]

When did you get the braviary?

... Not really. I get told to laugh more often.

[She'll place a hand on the bird's beak, to keep him quiet.] I traded for him a year ago.

[leadergreen]

[Green's expression shifts to something closer to anger; Eevee's ears perk, and she gets up and slips back to her trainer's side.] No, you didn't. Unless you never told me about it, but that doesn't make sense, you talk to me like every other day.

What the hell is going on, here?

I'm not your Leaf.

[At least she's calm about it] There are often doubles on this island.

[leadergreen]

Doubles. [Green's hand comes up to cover his mouth as he turns away slightly, starting to pace.] What, you mean there's more than one Leaf—of you? And you're someone else, another...version.

So you mean the Leaf I know, she might not be here.

[He turns, paces back towards you, and stops for a moment. His hand drops back to his side, and he looks at Leaf again.]

...Well, that's a relief, at least.

[Eevee trots over to sit next to Brohawk, but keeps an eye on her trainer.]

All of that is correct.

So far it doesn't seem to be very dangerous here. [Brohawk leans down to see the little critter better. Goodness, you are tiny.]

[leadergreen]

It's not danger that I'm worried about. Who's going to run the gym while I'm...here?

[He shakes his head.] I guess that's not your problem, though. Sorry. Here, let me try this again.

[He extends his hand for a handshake.] I'm Green. I run the Viridian City gym.

[Eevee chirps at you. You're about the same size as Pidgeot, actually! She nuzzles into his side and gives a happy little chirp.]

Time should be stalled back there while you're here.

[She'll shake the hand, but... it's pretty weird. Introducing yourself to a person who should be your best friend.]

Leaf. I'm a General.

[Brohawk looks down at Eevee for a little longer before bowing his head down and rubbing his beak against Eevee's side.]
