The Grand Opening

[A large WELCOME sign is hanging from the buildings when you walk into Levanta Town, but that seems to be the only sign that today is any different than any other day. The villagers are simply going about their daily business. However, if they are approached they are more than happy to explain the region as well as they can to any new arrivals.

Welcome to Levanta Town in The Drifting Land!]

[Hey. You are familiar, he knows you. And you know, familiar faces in a strange place like this are always a good thing, especially when you might be able to find out more information. Possibly, anyway.]

...Hilbert? You're here as well?
powerfulwarrior: (02 with you along the road)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-24 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oooh, it'll be hard to miss that cringe at his name. Seriously, Hilbert is soooo old-fashioned and weird compared to other names. But Cheren! Cheren is his bro!]

Sweet, a sight for sore eyes! Yeah. This place sounds pretty awesome, right? A floating island in the sky... There's sure to be some strong trainers to battle here, don't you think? [Never-ending enthusiasm and good thoughts. Even if he'd rather be looking for dat stone in Relic Castle and save the world and all.]
typeadvantage: (Future Sight)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-24 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[He will just raise an eyebrow at that because, hey. Your name is Hilbert, so he will call you Hilbert. Unless asked to do otherwise, but once a Hilbert, forever a Hilbert.]

Awesome isn't exactly the word I would use, but you do have a point regarding strong Trainers. [Strong Trainers would make this place more interesting, that's for sure.]

I have to wonder where exactly this place is, though. I've never heard of any of these places before now.
powerfulwarrior: (09 take no sides)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-24 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[And that's what he doesn't like. But it'd be rude to ask someone - especially a childhood friend - to call you something different.]

Maybe it's just floating above Unova. [Brilliant, Hilbert. Brilliant.] I mean, with Landorus's Shrine being up here and all, that makes sense.
typeadvantage: (Amnesia)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-24 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Wouldn't we have noticed it if it were just above Unova? [though he did have similar thoughts, so he can't exactly criticize that line of thinking.]

It would make sense if it were at least close-by for that same reason, though. I've never heard of other far-off regions having shrines to Legendary Pokemon from Unova.
powerfulwarrior: (09 take no sides)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-24 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's true. [To both of them. He doesn't exactly have a Flying-Type (brrr), so he can't check it out, but he guesses it'd be pretty easy to tell if they were over Castelia's towering buildings and all.]

I don't think any of these other weirdly-dressed people know where this could be either, floating on top of the world or not, so why don't we let it lie and have fun? I bet there's tons of Pokémon we've never seen before here!
typeadvantage: (Leaf Blade)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-24 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[He would suggest trying to peek over the edge and see if anything can be seen, but. There's the chance someone might fall off if that was attempted, and Cheren doesn't want to risk that chance. collecting information from other places is much safer and better, okay.]

Weirdly-dressed people? Do you mean Team Plasma? But you are right there. If there are Trainers here, there are bound to be wild Pokemon, maybe even some from other Regions. I'm sure the Professor would want a full report of whatever might be up here. [as thanks for the Pokedex and all, that's totes not an excuse to go out and catch Pokemon and look for some new strong ones to train. Nope.]
powerfulwarrior: (02 with you along the road)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-24 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, except Hilbert'd probably check it for himself once he was done meeting and greeting people.]

Nah, not just Team Plasma. [Heh.] And totally! There's gotta be a lot of strong ones we can befriend and train, since - unless the locals catch them - this looks like a Poké Paradise.
typeadvantage: (Assist)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-24 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[let Cheren know how that goes for you, Hilbert. You can test that for him]

If not just Team Plasma, then who? [there were some other Trainers that dressed in weird outfits, but Team Plasma was by far the strangest.]

I suppose we will have to go elsewhere to actually find these Pokemon, though. It doesn't seem like there are many in the outskirts of this town yet.
powerfulwarrior: (14 will ever be)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-24 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Of course, Cheren, what else are best buds for?]

The other Trainers, that's all. I bet their winters suck more than ours. [They're all pretty snazzy in a retro kind of way though.]

I wonder what kinds there are... Man, I'm seriously pumped now! Let's see, rocky areas first? Or maybe forests... I'll dive for Water-types too, and the meadows might be home to some types too. They're probably all scared of the new people coming around.
typeadvantage: (Facade)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-25 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
[ew, winter. That is the worst season of them all, because it's cold. Cheren makes a face at the thought of some other region with horrible winters, because ew.]

Why anyone would want to live somewhere with horrible winters, I have no idea.

[but away from winter and back to Pokemon. Pokemon are much nicer.]

I get the feeling Flying-types might be rather common around here. Even if the Pokemon are frightened by all of the new arrivals here, they're bound to come out eventually, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
powerfulwarrior: (13 have always been)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-25 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
I'll say.

[Pokemon are definitely much nicer. Hilbert's just dressed for winter.]

... Oh, they are, huh? I guess you'd think that, being in the sky and all... [Urg. Flying-types. Big, mean, nasty birds that peck you if you try and capture their brethren or stumble too close to their nest as a child. Making a kind of unsure face, totally unconvincingly happy tone. Except for the Dragon part.] I hope they come out soon, I'd love to meet them all! Maybe we'll even see some Dragon-types.
typeadvantage: (Future Sight)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-25 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Flying types aren't all that bad, and they're rather useful. Unfezant is an A+ loyal Pokemon, okay. But Dragons, Dragons would be more interesting. And most of those can fly, too.]

As would I. If there are wild Pokemon up here, I don't see why there wouldn't be Dragon-types. They might be more difficult to find, but that's nothing new. Many fully-evolved Dragon-types can fly, as well, so this would likely be a perfect place for them.
powerfulwarrior: (09 take no sides)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-25 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Useful or not, Hilbert has a hard time trying to capture one for himself. He'll try his hardest to get over his fear here.]

Out of the way, not many people around... It definitely sounds like Dragon paradise. Even Team Plasma'd approve of a place like this, I bet!
typeadvantage: (Guillotine)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-25 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Don't worry, ask Cheren, and he will walk you through how to catch Flying-types. And give you boatloads of other useless information you don't want to hear, but that is a consequence you will have to live with!]

They likely would, so long as the people that live here don't capture and train Pokemon. [which is still a really, really weird idea, and he is glad Team Plasma is gone. And that N might learn things in his adventures with Reshiram.]
powerfulwarrior: (02 with you along the road)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-25 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
[Nooooo thanks! He's good! Really!]

Fat chance of that happening huh, Cheren? [Heheheh.] I kind of wish he could see it. That'd open his eyes.
typeadvantage: (Amnesia)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-25 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
[but he can find textbooks and manuals and all sorts of informative things about this place somewhere! And he needs people to talk at to about this new information! And catching Flying-types can't be too different here than back in Unova...]

It's not unlikely that he might wind up here as well. I hope he does, if only to, as you said, open his eyes. [N might be kind of really weird, but it would be nice if he learned how things really were in most places.]
powerfulwarrior: (09 take no sides)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-25 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh heavens, just talk to Bianca!]

And maybe he'll even end up being one of your best friends, Cheren! [The idea's a nice one. A group of five four friends.] It'd be cool to get to know him at least.
typeadvantage: (Destiny Bond)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-25 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[But he can't tl;dr to Bianca, he has to keep her from getting in dangerous situations or other things like that. Multitasking is hard when it comes to dealing with her!]

I don't know about that. I doubt he'd approve of battling even if his eyes are opened to other things. [it would be nice to get to know him better and show him that most trainers are good people, but well. It's not something Cheren will admit aloud right now.]
powerfulwarrior: (02 with you along the road)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-25 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[Is it the bouncing bosom.]

Battling might not be on the top of his "approval" list, but he can at least acknowledge that it's how we get to know each other. It might take a while though, I guess. [Caaaan you feeeeel the tsuuun toniiight ♪ Hilbert'd be more than happy to take that job from Cheren, if he didn't want to do it.]
typeadvantage: (Shadow Claw)

[personal profile] typeadvantage 2012-03-27 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[is that how Bianca gets away with things in Hilbert land?]

A while is probably a bit of an understatement, given how he spoke before. [unless N sits down with Pokemon and learns from them or something, anyway. Cheren doesn't see much aside from that helping to change N's mind, really.]
powerfulwarrior: (12 still we are)

[personal profile] powerfulwarrior 2012-03-27 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's just a teenage boy, Cheren!]

There's hope. I think he'll come around as long as he sees it in action, when we're on the same side. [This is one thing Hilbert firmly believes. No matter how long it takes, he will show N that Pokémon and humans can co-exist peacefully and battle aside one another and that they don't need to be separated. And also that battling was a way to bring them closer together. You have a goddamn cheery childhood friend.]
