[A large WELCOME sign is hanging from the buildings when you walk into Levanta Town, but that seems to be the only sign that today is any different than any other day. The villagers are simply going about their daily business. However, if they are approached they are more than happy to explain the region as well as they can to any new arrivals.

There are a lot of Gym Leaders. I never thought they all fit into one category. They're all pretty different. At least the ones I know.

[He's pretty relaxed about most things. There are very few things that can ruffle up his feathers.]

I'm the Gym Leader of Viridian City in Kanto.

Unova's a pretty cool place. The gym leaders there were pretty tough from what I remember.

Actually, I think I've got a list of people I'm supposed to be battling at home.

But, I'm not there. So if it's a battle you want, it's a battle you get.

Gym Leaders should always stay in their gyms.

I know at least five Gym Leaders who don't.

There's a lot more to the world than just the city your gym's in.

T-that's unfair! After all, how'd you collect the eight badges if one of the gym leaders if off doing who knows what?

[And somehow, this explains why, when he's older, Grimsley never leaves his room.]

We always come back. It's not like we leave forever.

You can always collect the other badges while we're away.

But if you have a list, that's a lot of trainers waiting. I'm sure whatever Elite Four there is in Kanto wants to fight them, too.

It's not like you have to get the Earth Badge. There's more than just eight gyms in Kanto. You only need eight to enter the League.
