The Grand Opening

[A large WELCOME sign is hanging from the buildings when you walk into Levanta Town, but that seems to be the only sign that today is any different than any other day. The villagers are simply going about their daily business. However, if they are approached they are more than happy to explain the region as well as they can to any new arrivals.

But are you actually aiming for a higher goal, or are you just traveling for the sake of traveling?

I'm aiming higher-- but traveling's definitely part of it.

... Then how are you able to maintain your Gym Leader position if you're not at your post?

Kinda like how Fantina did.

At least you have a substitute to cover for your irresponsibility.

She's a good Gym Leader. [... if impossible to find]

Gary's interests are a lot closer to Viridian anyway.

Then why not leave the position to your substitute full-time so you can go wherever you want?

Because we both don't like to explore. We trade off who's in charge every year.

... You defeated Brandon. You could've become a Frontier Brain years ago. That would have fit your skills better, and if you had a similar facility as the Pyramid King, you could still travel.
