The Grand Opening

[A large WELCOME sign is hanging from the buildings when you walk into Levanta Town, but that seems to be the only sign that today is any different than any other day. The villagers are simply going about their daily business. However, if they are approached they are more than happy to explain the region as well as they can to any new arrivals.

Welcome to Levanta Town in The Drifting Land!]

[so many willing participants, so little time! Also don't mind Chandelure as she floats on over. Though Chandelure is more unnerved about arriving here than Shauntal, seeing all these new people is kind of interesting for her, too.]

You're a new arrival here, as well, right? Would you mind telling me where you're from, and what you felt upon starting this new chapter in your life?
snags: (thinking)

[Whoa what even is this thing... Wes is looking at it, kind of interested. At least, it's more interesting than this place is, for him.]

I'm from Orre. I felt annoyed. [He still kind of does, but eh.]

[personal profile] ex_ghostwriting235 2012-03-25 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
[It's a candleghost, and it is staring at you, just as interested. It just doesn't show, since it's hard to express emotions as a candleghost.]

Annoyed is likely also another common reaction. I can certainly see where you're coming from. I'm afraid I've never heard of Orre before, however. Could you describe what it's like?
snags: (maybe)

[Poor candleghost.]

A desert full of criminals. [A-yup.] Mostly.

[personal profile] ex_ghostwriting235 2012-03-25 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Candleghost will tough it out, despite that hardship, don't worry. But this desert of criminals, this sounds interesting.]

A desert full of criminals? And what of the Trainers and Pokemon in Orre? How do they survive? [because clearly every place ever must have Trainers, right? Training Pokemon is something everyone does, isn't it?]
snags: (hands in pockets)

[personal profile] snags 2012-03-25 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
The trainers usually are the criminals. [He shrugs. Or reformed criminals. It really depends.] We don't have wild Pokemon, we scrape by with what we got.

[Clearly! Just this place trains them for ~*evil*~]

They just have to be careful.

[personal profile] ex_ghostwriting235 2012-03-25 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
[This is kind of new! Well, the no wild Pokemon part is. Trainers being criminals is sadly nothing new, since how else would criminal teams battle?]

If there are no wild Pokemon, how did the criminal Trainers obtain their Pokemon? Were they transported from different areas?
snags: (thinking)

More than likely. Or stole them. [It's one of the two.]

[personal profile] ex_ghostwriting235 2012-03-26 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
[right, they steal Pokemon, too. Can't ignore that aspect of criminal organizations. It makes them easier to dislike in novels, as well as in real life.]

You weren't a member of this organization, were you? [it's a reasonable question, okay]
snags: (bring it)

[personal profile] snags 2012-03-26 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
No. [or, well...] Formerly.

[personal profile] ex_ghostwriting235 2012-03-27 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[A reformed criminal, living in a desert filled with criminals from the same organization. Trying desperately, with his loyal team at his side, to change their viewpoints and teach them to treat Pokemon correctly. This could be a wonderful novel, yes.]

Formerly, you say? What convinced you to turn over a new page in your life, and not look back to your previous life of crime? Do you still have friends in the organization, or have they left, as well? I assume you have your own Pokemon with you, yes? Which do you tend to use most often on your team?
snags: (hands in pockets)

I didn't agree with them anymore. Getting too shady for me. [No friends in the organization, no.] Umbreon and Espeon.
