The Grand Opening

[A large WELCOME sign is hanging from the buildings when you walk into Levanta Town, but that seems to be the only sign that today is any different than any other day. The villagers are simply going about their daily business. However, if they are approached they are more than happy to explain the region as well as they can to any new arrivals.

... Oh, I'd just arrived a while ago. I heard there's a shrine here, so... And I needed to get someplace more quiet than the plaza. Have you been here for long?

[ Which is why he doesn't "?" at the part about you being from the past - as he was explained, there were things like doubles of people, so he wouldn't be surprised by the usual time travel. Totally happens all the time, amirite. ]

[ What if you're from the time when Ho-Oh still lived in the Tin Tower that would be so amazing and explain so many things.

It's part of the Ecruteak legends! And, well, a legendary Pokemon. It used to live at the Tin Tower, but after the Brass Tower burned down, it's left the city. Oh, also it's the creator of the three legendary Pokemon, Suicune, Entei and Raikou! They were born- well, reborn after the fire at the Brass Tower. I've visited it a few times, too... I've always been told my ancestors also went there back when the tower was still in place.

[ SHEEPISH SMILE ]

Um, can you tell me why the tower burned down?

... No one's really sure, though the official version is that the fire started because a lighting struck the tower. It's been too long now, though. No one really remembers.

Okay. I guess that's better than the alternatives. Kind of anticlimactic, though.

[Ho-oh looks out at it, shading his eyes with a hand...]

This is a nice little town.

Isn't it? I like that it's so calm here.

[ ... A little pause. ]

Well, I mean, I guess it used to be calmer here before everyone started appearing. It's still nice, though.

The last place I was at didn't have any natives, I don't think. I hope we don't make things too...weird for them.
