[A large WELCOME sign is hanging from the buildings when you walk into Levanta Town, but that seems to be the only sign that today is any different than any other day. The villagers are simply going about their daily business. However, if they are approached they are more than happy to explain the region as well as they can to any new arrivals.

[a poffin rolls down the path in front of Archie, followed by an upset looking Piplup. A few feet behind him, his trainer runs after him, looking frazzled]

Piplup! Watch where you're going!

[torrential]

[A wild Water-type Pokémon appeared!]

[Archie grins and leans down to retrieve the Poffin, holding it out for the Piplup to take.]

Hey, lookin' for this?

[He glances up as the Piplup's trainer approaches, altering the smile to a more self-confident smirk.]

This one yours? It's a Water-type, right?

[He's never actually seen this one before, but it's a penguin and it's blue. Clearly it's a Water-type!]

[...His logic is amazing, shush.]

[His logic is sound. Piplup gives a happy squeal, taking the poffin and scarfing it right down. Onomnomnomnom.

Dawn catches up, looking a little winded]

Yeah, that's right.

[she smiles]

This is Piplup, a water pokemon from the Sinnoh region.

[then she spots the sharpedo, kneeling down to take a good look]

This is a sharpedo, right?

They're pretty rare, aren't they? I've never seen one.

[It's so cute! Err, awesome. Yes, it's so awesome.]

Yeah, this is a Sharpedo. He's from Hoenn; he's a Water an' Dark-type.

[The Sharpedo floats over to examine the newcomer, grinning widely and moving in to rub on her. Archie reaches out and grabs the shark by the fin with a quick reprimand.]

Hey, what've I told you about that? Knock it off.

[The shark looks like it's pouting for a moment before returning its attention to Dawn.]

Sorry, he's a little over-eager.

Mmhm. They're one of the starter pokemon.

[she brings out her pokedex, doing a quick look up. huh, rough skin?

She then grins, searching in her pockets for another poffin that she tosses over]

That's fine. He's a lot friendlier than the others I've encountered.

[torrential]

[Sharpedo catches the Poffin in mid-air, snacking on it happily.]

Yeah? Well, he's been raised around people for years, I guess that'd explain it.

[Since you know, wild Sharpedoes are... vicious. Unlike this derp of a shark.]

The name's Archie, by the way. Nice to meet'cha.

He's pretty cute.

[Piplup toddles on over, investigating this strange new pokemon]

I'm Dawn. It's nice to meet you too. So are you from Hoenn?

[torrential]

[The Sharpedo screeches happily at the compliment and spins in a circle. He would be rubbing all over you, Dawn, but he's been told not to do that.]

Yeah. You're from Sinnoh, I'm guessin'?

Yep.

[don't do that sharpedo she wants to toss more poffins over now. but would that be considered spoiling him? hm]

I was actually on my way over to Hoenn...I didn't think I'd end up on a magical boat though.

[torrential]

[Oh like Archie doesn't spoil that shark rotten?]

You just wound up here too, huh? I wasn't expecting to end up here either. I hope you get the chance to visit Hoenn; it's really nice around this time of year! It doesn't get as cold as Kanto an' Johto.

[Not that he was in either of those regions for too long, but eh, details!]

Yeah, my friends told me all about it. Sinnoh gets really cold so the cold doesn't bother me but it would be nice to experience some warmer weather.

Yeah, I've heard Sinnoh's really cold. What's it like otherwise? I haven't visited, but I'm interested in checkin' out the Water-types.

Well, we definitely have a lot of water types all over the place! Especially around Sunnyshore. We have a lot of ruins and things, so if you're interested in that, there's that too. And everyone is really friendly, so you'll have no problems with finding help if you need it.

It certainly sounds interesting! I heard Team Galactic was runnin' around there; have they been taken care of?

Oh, those guys? They've been taken care of ages ago. They wont be causing anyone any trouble.

Well that's good to hear! What happened to 'em?

Well, after Cyrus tried summoning Dialga and Palka to create a new dimension for himself, he stepped in once his control over them was broken. Then Dialga and Palkia destroyed the portal so no one else could enter while the rest of the Team Galactic members were caught and taken to jail.
