[Ethan's on the hunt.

For food, actually, because he's pretty far away from the Pokémon Center and there's a rumbly in his tumbly. He should've packed something with him before venturing out so far, probably, but well. ETHAN forgot FORESIGHT, to put it simply.

So with an equally hungry Ampharos at his side, the two are searching high and low for edible berries of some sort, or possibly even a river for some fish. Ampharos probably shouldn't get too close to that river, though.]

Man... I didn't think finding some food in this place would be this hard. Think we should just give up and try to head back?

[Ampharos isn't paying attention. Instead, she perks up at the sound of something rustling in the trees and immediately zaps it with a light Thundershock. It could be food! Or something that is carrying food! You don't know!

In reality, it's an unfortunate you. Oh no. :(]

[And in that case, the 'you' is a girl and her Zebstrika. :( Said Zebstrika then dashed out of the bushes, spooked. And Cecilia - the girl - followed, looking a bit out of it.]
...Did you do this?

[Ethan only just registers the unfamiliar Ponyta-like Pokémon dashing out of the bushes before the girl appears, and he rubs the back of his neck apologetically.]

Ah--sorry! We didn't mean to startle anyone. [And he regards the Zebstrika with interest.] Is that your Pokémon?

It didn't really startle me - so it's okay!
[Yes. Her electric-absorbing Zebstrika was more startled. She's a scardy-meowth, totes.]
Yes! This is my Zebstrika, Ana! She was one of my first captures, and really helped me beat the Elite Four, too!
[...]
Is that yours? Also, what were you doing?

Whoa, so it's called a Zebstrika, huh?

[dex'd! Sort of. The dex is a little clueless about this but it'll roll with it.]

And you said you've beaten the Elite Four? You sound like a pretty cool trainer already! Ampharos and I were just looking for some food. Looks like she got a little too excited, though.

[Ampharos investigates her fellow Electric-type curiously, apologizing for the shock.]

Mhm! She's strong, really.
[But then, she shrugged.] It would have been cooler to beat a Frontier Brain. [Even though she technically did... it didn't get her a stamp.]
Food, huh? Well, I could send him looking... I'm a little peckish, too!
[Ana gave a bit of a sheepish nod - and accepted the apology.]

Oh yeah, those Frontier guys can be tough. Keep at it, though, and I'm sure you'll beat 'em soon!

We wouldn't mind some help, would we? [He glances over at Ampharos, who nods enthusiastically. Hungryyy.]

Guess we're a team now, then! Hey, are you from here, or...?

I haven't even met them, though! I was too busy on my quest!
[And then she just... lets out her Reshiram, who takes flight straight away. What's keeping legendaries secret? c:] Hey! Ninten! Help us find some food, okay?
[Of course, being a legendary, Reshiram can speak though telepathy.]
Cecilia, this is not a good use of my powers.
But Ninten! I'm hungry! And so's this guy.
Very well.
[And after that, Ninten just... flies off, flames following him. Cecilia gives a bit of a chuckle.]
Actually, I'm from Unova. I was born there, and this is my first time out of there.

[--holy what that is a really big and intimidating-looking pokémon right there. Ethan doesn't need to be a pro legendary hunter ~~though he basically is~~ to tell he was just looking at a legendary.]

Unova, huh? I should've guessed! What was that Pokémon you just sent off? It sure seemed powerful.

And oh man, I always forget this, sorry--my name's Ethan, by the way. I'm from New Bark Town back in Johto!

That was Reshiram. He's the Legendary Dragon of Truth - though I don't get why he chose me.
[She said, looking up as he flew off to nothingness - well, away.
This angst about not knowing why she's the Hero of Truth is what is going to fuel her B2 Nuzlocke ~~yes i'm already planning it she's going to start with another tepig and everything~~.]
He's one-of-a-kind, and he saved both me and Ana a few times before I even knew he was a Reshiram.
[...Wait. New Bark Town, where the Subway Bosses started their Random Nuzlocke Challenge?! Wow... yeah, cecilia loves johto because only care about subway bosses/frontier brains.]
New Bark Town--?! Wow, that's cool! I'm Cecilia, from Nuvema.

Reshiram, huh?

[He thoughtfully stares off in the direction Reshiram flew, then turns back to Cecilia.]

It's good to meet you, Cecilia! New Bark's not that special, but it's home. I'm surprised you've heard of it!

Well... some guys who I idolise came from there. Emmet and Ingo - do you know them?! [Yeeeah...]

Ack--! [And through the tangled foliage tumbles one (1) Brendan, plus bike! Congratulations!

..no, wait.]

What in the.... [He rubs his head, slightly dazed.] There wasn't a storm brewin' last I checked...!

Amph! Did you just attack a trainer?

[Ampharos whistles innocently and shuffles off to the side. Ethan sighs, gently facepalming before regarding Brendan with an apologetic and very sheepish smile.]

Sorry 'bout that, dude. You okay?

[GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF, BIKEDAN. YOU'RE OKAY. WALK IT OFF.]

Ah-- huh? [Standing up, brushing himself off... oh-- Oh, an Amph-- Oh.] Oh! Yeah, uh-- h-hah, I'm fine! No biggie!

[He picks up his bike and inspects it-- the electricity may've left a mark, but the bike is functional, so no harm done.] 'M'not a wild Pokémon, though, heh...

[Ethan gives a small laugh.] Yeah, that much I could tell! Can't say the same for my Ampharos, though. Silly girl.

[And then he notices the bike.] That's your bike? It's pretty nice!

This? Yep, sure is! [Whoa Brendan don't get all proud all of a sudden, it's weird.] 'S the top-model Acro bike! Only from Hoenn. I ride it all the time!

[Bianca happens to be around collecting berries, but she isn't the one reached by the zap - it's actually her Stoutland, who'll quickly proceed to attack back.

Beware of the Wild Charge going your way~]

[OH NO WHAT Ethan just barely manages to dive off to the side as Stoutland attacks, while Ampharos immediately heads into battle-mode and takes the brunt of it bravely. After being forcefully thrown to the ground, she hops back up and prepares to retaliate.]

Wait, wait--! This isn't time for a battle! Amph, stop!

[Ampharos' Thunderbolt-ready sparks settle down at the command and she looks around, confused.]

[Guess who's arriving late~ Bianca notices the scene and gasps.]

Stouty, enough! What's gotten into you? [Walking to stand in front of her dog, stares at Ampharos with interest.] I'm so sorry for this, she usually doesn't attack without a good reason...

[Ethan steps over to Ampharos with a quick lookover to make sure she's mostly okay, which she is; she's lucky it was only an Electric-type attack, but that 'Stouty' sure looks like a tough Pokémon anyway. He looks at Bianca, shaking his head.]

I'm just glad it didn't get out of hand! To be honest, I should be the one apologizing--it was probably my Ampharos that started it. Seemed like she might've shocked something she shouldn't have.

[And he glances at Stoutland with further interest.]

That's your Pokémon, right? I've never seen one of those before!

Aww, an accident - it's alright, apology accepted! These things just like, happen.

[Proudly puts a hand on Stoutland's head for some pettings. The doggy wags her tail -she's taken some electric spiders before so she's fine- and barks a friendly hello. See, all's in the past now.] Yup, she's a Stoutland, a Normal Type! And we're even I guess, because I don't know yours either!

[Brb, pulling gen V dex OH YEAH.]

She seems pretty strong. I can tell you're a good trainer!

[also dexin' it, though mostly it registers Stoutland's picture followed by ???. Elm, how bout that upgrade sometime soon.]

This is Ampharos. She's--well, obviously an Electric-type. [He laughs a little.] We're from Johto! D'you happen to be from Unova?

[Some blushing aaaand yeah hiding under her hat.] I-I'm not big of a Trainer, heh. But I do care about my Pokémon with all my love! Ampharos looks really strong too...

[Ooooh another dex model, curiosity +10. It's ok, Ethan, let Bianca set up a little place to work and she'll be able to offer you an upgrade.] Johto, how exciting! Yes, I'm from Unova, how did you know? My name is Bianca, from Nuvema town. It's very nice to meet you!

It's nice to meet you, too! The name's Ethan, from New Bark Town. I only guessed Unova 'cause I seem to be running into new Pokémon from your region all the time around here. It's pretty cool!

[oh man having the Unova Pokédex integrated would be REALLY USEFUL all of his love if you could do it Bianca ;A;]

So I'm guessing you just popped up here like everyone else a while ago?

Oh, yeah, meeting new Pokémon is the coolest thing ever! Hello there, Ampharos~ [Approaching slowly to see if the sheep doesn't mind some pettting. Stoutland will do some sniffing on Ethan.

DON'T WORRY SHE'LL MAKE HER LITTLE LAB IN HERE AND OFFER UPDATES FOR EVERYBODY besides yours is a dex from Oak himself DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA OF HOW MUCH FANGIRLING WILL BE DONE]

Yup, and luckily I found my friends quickly! You too, Ethan?

[Ampharos doesn't mind the petting at all! She nudges her head against Bianca's hand with a content noise.

S-SO MUCH FANGIRLING oh goodness. what if she actually met Oak himself around here someday...

Ethan adjusts his hat with a thoughtful expression.]

I'm glad you found your friends! I haven't run into too many people I know. I mean, a couple have looked like them--and that's the weirdest thing ever, by the way--but not exactly the way I know them. It's pretty strange! I have no idea how that even works.

[Oh Arceus the cuteness DO ALL THE PETTING! ...meeting Oak will give her a heart attack, just saying.

A gasp.] Something like that happened to me too! My friends were my friends but their names were different! And they didn't remember some stuff, like, many months passed between them and me!

[Ethan nods enthusiastically in agreement.]

Yeah! I guess there's some kinda... time jump thing going on besides the random teleportation. Really makes you wonder exactly what sort of place this region is. [squints in the distance, as if answers will magically fly out of the horizon.]

[Looks at the spot Ethan's looking too.]

Is it even anywhere near home? I don't think I ever heard about a floating island before, and that's something you don't not-notice!

Y'know, that's a really good point. I've never heard of it either. Maybe it's in a different... realm? Does that make sense?

[what is this conversation, Ethan doesn't even know.]

Kinda? I mean, they said that some legendary Pokémon are capable of that...

[...uh-oh...]

...do you think someone made a legend mad and this is its punishment?

[uh-oh's right. he grimaces.]

I wouldn't be surprised, to be honest! Some of the legendary Pokémon I know can have some pretty rough tempers. If that's the case, though, we might have to find some way of apologizing if we ever plan on leaving.

Apologizing definitely sounds like a pla- [Wait. Headtilt.] You know legendary Pokémon?

[oh man how to explain]

Uh... well, just a few years back they started showing up everywhere, back in Johto and Kanto, and somehow I was always in the right place at the right time. It's kind of a long story. I even had a chance to see one get born, which was probably the coolest thing I've seen in my life. What're the legendary Pokémon in Unova like?

[It's alright, Ethan, she doesn't find it strange - it was just surprising. She SO needs to get her hands on your dex now.]

Waaah, that sounds amazing! You sure are a lucky trainer! Well, our main legends are a couple of dragons that don't get along... My best friends got to fight with them. We also have a trio who likes to mess with the weather...

[While most people would probably yell from getting hit by any electric attack, this guy just looks around.]

Was that you guys? [He's... a bit too used to getting attacks in his face.]

[Ethan's definitely relieved that this guy doesn't seem overly angry or injured. He sends him a sheepish grin.]

Sorry about that, dude! Ampharos seems to be feeling a little jumpy. You're not hurt or anything, are you?

Not at all.

I'm used to getting electrocuted. [The Pikachu on his shoulder seems to agree, though sheepishly.]

[And suddenly Ethan is hit by the strongest sense of deja vu ever.]

Hey--wait, you look familiar.

[Familiar, but different? But mostly the same? what is going on]

... Ash?

[This one does seem a bit older, doesn't he?]

Yes? Did we meet before?

[Don't mind Ethan as he steps a little closer to peer at him.]

We met just a few days ago, when I first got here! You didn't have a Pikachu though. And you seem... different?

[This place never runs out of mysteries, seriously!]

You probably met a different version of me. [Pikachu will go ahead and peer back]

It seems like there're a couple of them running around.

Oh. [BECAUSE THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING]

Must be weird meeting a different version of yourself, huh? [and then Ethan proceeds to get that chance later. funny how that works!] I mean, I guess we don't know each other then. I'm Ethan, from New Bark Town!

[There's a surprised squeak, and a bit more rustling, before a brown-and-tan puffball comes rolling out from behind the nearest tree.

Have a furret, who is now having a very Bad Hair Day, looking morosely up at you. Static-charged fur sticking up everywhere! Her trainer comes out a few seconds later, following his pokemon.]

Pecha! Are you okay! What... [He looks up, and sees—]

Woah, you look just like me!

[Ethan's just about to react to the puffy Furret (finally a familiar Pokémon around here, he thinks) but the sight of what basically looks like his twin if he had a twin stops that thought short.]

... Yeah, now I've seen everything.

[He raises a hand, almost as if to poke the other him and see if he's real, but changes it into an awkward wave at the last second.]

Hi.

We even sound the same! Our voices, I mean.

[This is not exactly true, but Ethan—well, this one, anyway—is not exactly observant, either.

He walks towards you slowly, ducking forward so that he's peering up at you.]

Are you really me? What were you doing last night?

[The furret looks back and forth, trying to figure out how her trainer just duplicated. She's hanging back behind her trainer now, though. She also gives herself a little shake. Nope. Still a puffball.]

[Ethan instinctively leans back slightly and is struck by an odd idea.]

Last night? I was here! Hey, are you Copycat trying to play a really good trick on me by any chance?

[Ampharos goes to investigate Furret, curious about the puffy fur and not quite realizing it was her who caused it to begin with.]
